Our story — 01

A coffee house, not a coffee shop. A room you'd rather stay in.

Bumi means earth. We started Bumi because Bandung deserved a room that wasn't trying to be anywhere else — bamboo, linen, soft light, and coffee made with the kind of care that takes a few minutes longer.

Today we run two houses: Bumi Tirtayasa in Bandung and Bumi Selatan in Cipete, South Jakarta. No two are the same. Each one is built around the neighborhood it sits in.

Beans we know by name. Brewed by hand on V60, AeroPress, and a quiet espresso bar. We're not in a rush — and we hope you aren't either.

Bamboo, oak, linen, cove lighting. A room that breathes. We design every Bumi ourselves, room by room, so it feels like a home before it feels like a café.

Every cup is a small ceremony — measured, weighed, timed. We brew slow because the difference shows up in the cup.

Our baristas train on single origins from across the archipelago and beyond. Order an espresso and you'll get espresso. Order a V60 and you'll get four minutes of someone's full attention.

From the bamboo joinery to the linen cushions to the maroon steel beam overhead — every Bumi is designed and built in-house.

We treat the room like the menu. Considered. Local. Made to last. It's why no two Bumi locations look alike — and why both still feel unmistakably Bumi.
